The Mangrove Forest, about 0.9 hectares in size, covers a 1.16 km shallow channel at the southernmost tip of the Ras Mohammed peninsula. About 150 meters around the mangrove are open cracks caused by earthquakes. On average, these cracks are 40 meters long and between 20 cm and 1.5 meters wide. The cracks also contain pools of water up to 14 meters deep.

In addition to these, there are 40 species of submarines, 25 species of sea urchins, more than 100 species of mollusks and 150 species of crustaceans. Other creatures in the water are sea turtles such as the green turtle (Chelonia mydas) and the hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata).
